The program is designed to facilitate the early repatriation of distressed OFWs to avoid affected workers from being stranded and left without means of ensuring their safety and sustenance. It consists of bringing distressed/sick OFWs, including the transport of human remains and their belongings, back to the country, taking into account relevant rules and policies of the host country.

Emergency repatriation is carried out in the event of any political unrest, civil war, crises or natural calamities (force majeure). The components of the program are the following:
1) Provision of air ticket
2) Airport assistance
3) Half-way home accommodation
4) Medical assistance/referral
5) Domestic transport assistance
6) Psycho-social counselling
