In response to the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. who made sure that every Filipino worker wherever in the world is safe and protected, six (6) Filipino seafarers including the crew of MV Magic Seas safely returned to the Philippines today, July 11, after the incident of the attack by the Houthi group on the said ship while sailing in the Red Sea.

Three (3) of the seafarers arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 under Flight PR685 at around 4:10 pm, while the other three landed at Clark International Airport Terminal 2 aboard Flight QR926 at 4:42 pm.

They were immediately welcomed by representatives from OWWA, led by Deputy Administrators Ryan Uy and Rosalia Susana Bahia-Catapang, together with OWWA Region 3 Officer-in-Charge Redina Manlapaz. Also included in the welcoming of officers from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) led by Assistant Secretary Kiko de Guzman. Agencies provided necessary assistance such as medical assistance, psychosocial support, food, and transportation back to their respective provinces.

Their repatriation is part of the government’s ongoing repatriation and rescue operations to ensure the safety of Filipino seafarers in high-risk maritime zones, amid worsening tensions in the Red Sea and other parts of the Middle East.

OWWA and DMW continue to liaise with international partners and manning agencies to ensure security, benefits, and competent assistance for our sailors.


OWWA at DMW, sinalubong ang anim na seafarers na biktima ng Houthi Attack sa Red Sea

Bilang pagtugon sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na tiyaking ligtas at protektado ang bawat Pilipinong manggagawa saan mang panig ng mundo, ligtas nang nakabalik sa Pilipinas ngayong araw, Hulyo 11, ang anim (6) na Filipino seafarers na kabilang sa tripulante ng MV Magic Seas, matapos ang insidente ng pag-atake ng grupong Houthi sa nasabing barko habang naglalayag sa Red Sea.

Tatlo (3) sa mga seafarers ay dumating sa NAIA Terminal 1 lulan ng Flight PR685 bandang 4:10 ng hapon, habang ang tatlo pa ay lumapag sa Clark International Airport Terminal 2 sakay ng Flight QR926 dakong 4:42 ng hapon.

Kaagad silang sinalubong ng mga kinatawan mula sa OWWA, sa pangunguna nina Deputy Administrators Ryan Uy at Rosalia Susana Bahia-Catapang, kasama si OWWA Region 3 Officer-in-Charge Redina Manlapaz. Kasama rin sa pagsalubong ang mga opisyal mula sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) na pinangunahan ni Assistant Secretary Kiko de Guzman. Nagkaloob ang mga ahensya ng kinakailangang tulong gaya ng medical assistance, psychosocial support, pagkain, at transportasyon pabalik sa kani-kanilang mga probinsya.

Ang kanilang pag-uwi ay bahagi ng patuloy na repatriation at rescue operations ng pamahalaan upang tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng mga Pilipinong seafarers sa mga high-risk maritime zones, sa gitna ng lumalalang tensyon sa Red Sea at iba pang bahagi ng Middle East.

Ang OWWA at DMW ay patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan sa international partners at manning agencies upang matiyak ang seguridad, benepisyo, at karampatang tulong para sa ating mga marino.
