In response to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive that ‘No Filipino left behind,’ the first batch of OFWs from Iran safely returned to the Philippines. Lulan Flight EK334, arrived yesterday, June 28, eight (OFWs who voluntarily decided to go home amid the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran.

Upon their arrival at NAIA, they were warmly welcomed by Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator PY Caunan, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega, and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Assistant Secretary Venecio Legaspi. The MIA Medical Team and representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) are also at the airport to ensure that their condition is in good condition.

The repatriation was realized with the help of the Philippine Embassy in Tehran, under the leadership of Ambassador Roberto Manalo, partner of DMW and OWWA. From processing documents to their journey home, the embassy and government agencies ensured that the return of our countrymen would be smooth, safe, and swift.

Upon arriving at the airport, they were immediately given financial assistance from DMW, OWWA, and DSWD. Aside from financial aid, they also underwent medical check-up and received food assistance at the airport itself.
As additional support, the provision of temporary accommodation through hotel accommodations from OWWA has also been done, and respective domestic flights home to the provinces have also been arranged.

OWWA, DMW, and other partner agencies of the government remain focused to make sure every Filipino wherever in the world is safe, and ready to serve at any time in times of crisis.

Unang batch ng repatriated OFWs mula Iran, ligtas na nakauwi sa Pilipinas

Bilang pagtugon sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na ‘No Filipino left behind,’ ligtas na nakauwi sa Pilipinas ang unang batch ng OFWs mula Iran. Lulan ng Flight EK334, dumating kahapon, Hunyo 28, ang walong (OFWs na boluntaryong nagpasya na umuwi sa gitna ng patuloy na tensyon sa pagitan ng Israel at Iran.

Sa kanilang pagdating sa NAIA, mainit silang sinalubong nina Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator PY Caunan, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega, at Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Assistant Secretary Venecio Legaspi. Nasa airport din ang MIA Medical Team at kinatawan mula sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) upang tiyakin na maayos ang kanilang kondisyon.

Ang repatriation ay naisakatuparan sa tulong ng Philippine Embassy sa Tehran, sa pangunguna ni Ambassador Roberto Manalo, katuwang ang DMW at OWWA. Mula sa pagproseso ng mga dokumento hanggang sa kanilang biyahe pauwi, tiniyak ng embahada at mga ahensya ng pamahalaan na magiging maayos, ligtas, at mabilis ang pagbabalik ng ating mga kababayan.

Pagdating pa lang sa paliparan ay agad silang nabigyan ng tulong pinansyal mula sa DMW, OWWA, at DSWD. Bukod sa pinansyal na ayuda, sumailalim din sila sa medical check-up at tumanggap ng food assistance sa mismong airport.

Bilang karagdagang suporta, isinagawa rin ang pagbibigay ng pansamantalang matutuluyan sa pamamagitan ng hotel accommodations mula sa OWWA, at inihanda na rin ang kani-kanilang domestic flights pauwi sa mga probinsya.

Patuloy na nakatutok ang OWWA, DMW, at iba pang katuwang na ahensya ng gobyerno upang matiyak na ligtas ang bawat Pilipino saan mang panig ng mundo, at handang umalalay anumang oras sa panahon ng krisis.
