Eight (8) Filipino seafarers from the Portuguese-flagged cargo vessel “Solong” have successfully returned to the country, aboard flight EY440 this afternoon, March 18.

They were among the crew of the ship “Solong”, which hit the US oil tanker Stena Immaculate on March 10, 2025, at the Humber Estuary, East Yorkshire, England.

They were warmly welcomed by OWWA, led by Officer-in-Charge Noemi Tañag, and the DMW, led by ASEC Levinson Alcantara. To ensure their convenience, OWWA immediately provided food assistance, transportation assistance for their return to their respective provinces, and hotel accommodation if needed. In addition, financial assistance is available to help them get started over.

Matapos ang isang maritime collision sa Hunter Estuary, walong Filipino Seafarers ligtas nang nakauwi!

Matagumpay nang nakabalik sa bansa ang 8 Filipino seafarers mula sa Portuguese-flagged cargo vessel “Solong”, lulan ng flight EY440 ngayong hapon, Marso 18.

Sila ay kabilang sa crew ng barkong “Solong”, na bumangga sa US oil tanker Stena Immaculate noong Marso 10, 2025, sa Humber Estuary, East Yorkshire, England.

Mainit silang sinalubong ng OWWA, sa pangunguna ni Officer-in-Charge Noemi Tañag, at ng DMW, sa pangunguna ni ASEC Levinson Alcantara. Upang matiyak ang kanilang kaginhawaan, agad na nagbigay ang OWWA ng food assistance, transportation assistance para sa kanilang pag-uwi sa kai-kanilang probinsya, at hotel accommodation kung kinakailangan. Bukod dito, may nakalaang financial assistance upang matulungan silang makapagsimula muli.
