In the government’s continuous response to President Ferdinand R’s directive. Marcos Jr. assuring that “No Filipino will be left behind,” a total of 51 OFWs successfully returned to the country this Monday, July 7, from Lebanon, Thailand, and Jeddah under the repatriation efforts of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
First to arrive at NAIA Terminal 3 are the five (5) OFWs from Lebanon affected by the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. They arrived aboard flight TK084 and were immediately handled by DMW, OWWA, and MIAA Medical team for adequate help and medical assistance.
This follows the arrival of 11 human trafficking victims from Thailand aboard flight PR731 at Terminal 1. They were welcomed by representatives from DMW and OWWA to ensure their safe return and prompt provision of corresponding support.
On the last flight for the night, 35 OFWs from Jeddah arrived aboard flight WY843, who were also welcomed in Terminal 1. They are also among those who were given initial assistance, medical check-up, and transport arrangements going back to their provinces.
Repatriated OFWs immediately received food assistance, transport support, and other services from OWWA. Financial assistance, reintegration support, and hotel accommodation if needed are also prepared, as part of the whole-of-government response for their relaunch in the Philippines.
This is a proof of the continued and strengthened relationship of government agencies to ensure the security, welfare, and worthy repatriation of our OFWs in all parts of the world.
