1,600 active OWWA members in Davao del Sur receive cash relief assistance from OWWA XI
A total of one thousand six hundred (1,600) Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their dependents from Digos City, Bansalan and Hagonoy, Davao del Sur benefitted from the cash relief assistance worth P3,000.00 each provided by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) – Regional Welfare Office XI in the month February 2020. Claimants were active OWWA members/dependents who were affected by the series of earthquakes that hit Davao del Sur last October 16, 29 and 31, 2019.
Also present during the opening program in Hagonoy was Municipal Mayor Franco Calida who extended his gratitude to OWWA for providing financial assistance to his OFW constituents where most of their houses were partially damaged.
On the same day, OWWA XI Regional Director Ron Lionel Bartolome and OWWA Officer Hector Cruz proceeded to the municipality of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur to meet the officers and members of the Magsaysay OFW Family Circles (OFCs) who are applicants of the calamity assistance. Director Bartolome and Mr. Cruz addressed various concerns in relation to the availment of the calamity assistance under the Welfare Assistance Progam of OWWA.
