Brother of OFW Domestic Helper Graduates With Latin Honors as OWWA EDSP Scholar

“Grateful and blessed!”

That is what Steve Justine Labadan Agsoy Jr. would describe himself as an Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) scholar under the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP).

“No words can express how grateful I am for being an OWWA scholar” uttered Steve Justine who graduated recently as Cum Laude with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Criminology at Saint Joseph Institute of Technology.

The 22-year-old Steve is the 3rd child of Mrs. Nenita Agsoy, a housewife and Mr. Steve Agsoy Sr. a driver and farmer. He is then the loving younger brother of Ms. Stephanie Agsoy an OFW in Kuwait who works as a Domestic Helper since the year 2018.

Steve is indeed grateful to his sister for being the avenue of his scholarship, though it may have been challenging for her sister to be far away from the family. He acknowledges all the sacrifices that his sister endured to support him and his family. As such, Steve strived hard in his studies and maximized his potential as a student.

He shares that he manages being an OWWA scholar through discipline and prayer. It proved to bear good results as he finished his course with Latin Honors as well as being recognized as the Outstanding Criminology Student and Leadership Awardee. He encouraged fellow scholars to also “pray and wait for the Lord’s will”.

For the time being, Steve is looking for a stable job while waiting for his review in preparation of his Criminology Licensure Exam (CLE).
