In accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure the safety and welfare of every Filipino worker everywhere in the world, a total of 47 OFWs from Kuwait, Israel, and the Red Sea successfully returned home to the country this Friday (June 11) and Saturday (June 12).

Last Saturday night, July 11, 20 OFWs from Kuwait arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 carrying Flight WY843. They were welcomed by representatives from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) led by Deputy Administrator for Administration and Fund Management Atty. Jasmine Gapatan, with some staff from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and MIAA Medical Team for immediate medical check-up, psychosocial support, and transportation back to their respective provinces.

The arrival of 16 OFWs from Israel aboard Flight PR659 at NAIA Terminal 1 followed on Sunday, July 12 noon. They are part of the government’s voluntary repatriation program amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran. They were immediately welcomed by OWWA led by Deputy Administrators Rosalia Susana Bahia-Catapang and Atty. Gapatan, with DMW, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and MIAA Medical Team.

11 seafarers from MV Magic Seas arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 last night. Six crew members were home for the first time on July 11. Such sailors were among those affected by the attack by the Houthi group on the said ship while sailing in the Red Sea.
They were warmly welcomed by the DMW headed by Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, OWWA Deputy Administrator Ryan Uy, and representatives from DSWD and MIAA Medical Team. In addition to initial medical and psychosocial assistance, they will also receive financial assistance and reintegration support from DMW, OWWA, and other government agencies.

This series of repatriations is a testament to the government’s swift and collective response to protect our countrymen in the midst of unrest and crises in different parts of the world.

47 OFWs, kabilang ang mga Marino mula sa MV Magic Seas, ligtas na nakauwi sa Pilipinas

Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na tiyakin ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng bawat Pilipinong manggagawa saan mang panig ng mundo, matagumpay na nakauwi sa bansa ang kabuuang 47 OFWs mula Kuwait, Israel, at Red Sea nitong Biyernes (Hunyo 11) at Sabado (Hunyo 12).

Noong gabi ng Sabado, Hulyo 11, dumating sa NAIA Terminal 1 ang 20 OFWs mula Kuwait lulan ng Flight WY843. Sinalubong sila ng mga kinatawan mula sa Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) sa pangunguna ni Deputy Administrator for Administration and Fund Management Atty. Jasmine Gapatan, kasama ang ilang kawani mula sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) at MIAA Medical Team para sa agarang medical check-up, psychosocial support, at transportasyon pabalik sa kani-kanilang mga lalawigan.

Sumunod naman noong Linggo, Hulyo 12 ng hapon ang pagdating ng 16 OFWs mula Israel sakay ng Flight PR659 sa NAIA Terminal 1. Sila ay bahagi ng voluntary repatriation program ng pamahalaan sa gitna ng patuloy na tensyon sa pagitan ng Israel at Iran. Agad silang sinalubong ng OWWA sa pangunguna nina Deputy Administrators Rosalia Susana Bahia-Catapang at Atty. Gapatan, kasama ang DMW, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), at MIAA Medical Team.

Kinagabihan naman ay dumating sa NAIA Terminal 3 ang 11 seafarers mula sa MV Magic Seas lulan ng Flight SQ918. Una nang nakauwi ang anim na miyembro ng kanilang crew noong Hulyo 11. Ang mga naturang marino ay kabilang sa mga naapektuhan ng pag-atake ng grupong Houthi sa nasabing barko habang naglalayag sa Red Sea.

Mainit silang sinalubong ng DMW sa pangunguna ni Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, OWWA Deputy Administrator Ryan Uy, at mga kinatawan mula sa DSWD at MIAA Medical Team. Bukod sa inisyal na tulong medikal at psychosocial, makatatanggap din sila ng financial assistance at reintegration support mula sa DMW, OWWA, at iba pang ahensya ng pamahalaan.

Ang serye ng mga repatriation na ito ay patunay ng mabilis at sama-samang pagtugon ng pamahalaan upang maprotektahan ang ating mga kababayan sa gitna ng mga kaguluhan at krisis sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng mundo.
