President Ferdinand R. visited Marcos Jr. at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, yesterday, June 3, to personally inspect the new facilities and find out the improvements in the airport since it was brought under the management of the New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC).
As part of his walkthrough, the President toured the Immigration Area, OFW Immigration Annex, OFW Lounge, Transportation Network Vehicle Services (TNVS) area, and Arrival curbside area. One of the highlights of his visit is the OFW Lounge, which once again shows the administration’s concern for our Countryman OFWs. The facilities aim to provide a free, comfortable place where OFWs can rest, eat, and prepare before their departure to another country.
The OFW Lounge was formally launched in Terminal 1 on January 14, 2024 followed by the opening of the lounge in Terminal 3 on July 19, 2024. Since then, more than 600,000 OFWs have been served by the lounge in Terminal 3 alone—a testament to the success of this initiative and the government’s continued focus on the welfare of Filipino workers abroad.
