A momentous day took place at the OFW Lounge in NAIA Terminal 1 as OWWA celebrated its 1st anniversary and the recognition of the 500,000th OFW Lounge visitors!
OFW Jose Diva, an OFW for 20 years and a factory manager in Malaysia, returned to the Philippines to be with his family. After weeks of vacation, and because it was just in time for his return day, OFW Jose’s flight to Malaysia, he was recognized as the 500,000th guest of the OFW Lounge.
The celebration was attended by prominent officials, including Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Cacdac, OWWA Administrator Arnaldo “Arnell” Ignacio, Congresswoman Marissa Magsino, and Congressman Ron Salo.
The OFW Lounge was established as part of the service improvement for OFWs leaving the country. It provides free food, internet access, charging stations, and assistance for their fast retrieval of documents such as OFW E-Card.
We will continue to serve and care for our new heroes!
