“For us, all women are winners in their own unique way since they remind us of the ‘heroism’ from the moment we are born and throughout our lifetime. The Filipino women migrant workers as the country’s `economic heroes’ have shown their courageous side by facing the hardships associated with labor migration, and the display of ‘unconditional love’ to their children back home. This event is truly a tribute to women empowerment. Support to women empowerment is tantamount to advocacy in gender equality,” Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello lll said.
