RWO-NCR in partnership with BDO conducts Financial Literacy Training

Regional Welfare Office-National Capital Region (RWO-NCR) in cooperation with Banco de Oro conducted a Financial Literacy Seminar for the OFW Family Circles (OFCs) last November 24, 2014, 10:00 am  to 5:00 pm at the Makati City Hall, MADAC headquarters.

The Financial Literacy program is a free learning seminar which aims to encourage OFWs and their dependents to invest in things that would ensure their financial stability in the future.

The event started with the discussion on how the participants can save through their family members’ remittances by opening an account where they can put their  savings.

Mr. Philip Devolgado, the event’s resource speaker reiterated that in order to succeed you have to know how to live within your means; make sure that before investing on big things (house and lot, car, etc.) you have to have an extra money first and to try to have a mutual fund instead of an account which does not generate money.

Aside from the Financial Literacy Training, the event started with a short presentation on OWWA Programs and Services. It also featured games and activities which made sure that each and every participant was able to have knowledge on where and how the OFWs can send their remittances to their dependents.
