OWWA XII Conducts Planning Exercises for C.Y. 2017

In order to give a more quality and better service to its clientele, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration XII had its annual Planning Exercises last January 15, 2016 at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City.


As the agency look back to the year that has been and as the year 2017 begins, program review and planning is conducted to continuously adopt effective and timely innovations in the delivery of programs and services. This is also an avenue in discussing issues and concerns that matters to the effective and efficient implementation of agency’s projects and events.


The activity includes updates on OWWA’s new programs and services like the Supplemental Medical Assistance for OFWs (MedPlus) and Education and Livelihood Program for OFWs on death row.


Officer-In-Charge Marlyn E. Jamero in her opening remarks highlights the value of respect to workmates, love for work and dedication to public service, saying "We are not a team because we work together. We are a team because we respect, trust and care for each other. ” She also expressed her gratitude to her staff for their vast contribution and support to the success of agency’s operation.


Among the well accomplished programs of OWWA include the Workers Welfare Assistance Program, the Free-IT Training Program, Formation of OFW Family Circles, Capability Building Trainings for OFCs and partners and the successful conduct of the agency’s institutional activities.

The agency also recognizes the great contribution of all its social partners including the local government units in the region represented by its Public OFW Desk Officer, OFW Family Circles and attached agencies. Indeed, targets for the year 2016 have been achieved remarkably.


OIC PSD Chief Christelyn R. Caceres said that may the overwhelming accomplishments of the office for the year 2016 serve as an inspiration and a challenge to all in order to provide better service to the modern heroes for the year 2017 and the years to come.


OWWA XII remains steadfast in upholding its main objective to promote the welfare and protect the interest of Overseas Filipino Workers and their dependents.
