OWWA trains teachers, OFC leaders on counselling for OFW children

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-Regional Welfare Office (OWWA-RWO) 6 recently got involved in the Training of Trainers on School-Based Program for Children and Families of Overseas Filipinos at Casa Real, Iloilo Provincial Capitol, Iloilo City last April 17 – 20, 2017.

 

Organized by Atikha Overseas Workers & Training Communities Initiative and in partnership with the Iloilo Provincial Government and the Department of Education, the said activity taught participants on how to conduct information, values formation, and capacity building trainings that would guide them in dealing with OFW families.

 

Mr. James Mendiola, Officer-In-Charge, gave an overview on Philippine Overseas Migration Trends and the Rights of Migrant Children.

 

The training is part of the “Coming Home” project, which receives funding from the United Nations Women Fund for Gender Equality.
