Online Payment Services in store for OWWA members: OWWA and LBP ink Memorandum of Agreement for Electronic Payment Portal (ePP)

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) for the implementation of online payment of OWWA membership thru LBP’s Electronic Payment Portal (ePP).

The MOA was signed yesterday, 17 January 2017, by OWWA Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac and LBP President and CEO Alex V. Buenaventura at the DOLE Office in Intramuros, Manila. The ceremonial signing was witnessed by DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III and LBP Senior Vice President Liduvino S. Geron.

Under the agreement, Landbank’s ePP, an internet-based payment system, shall be made accessible to Balik Manggagawa OFWs who wish to renew their OWWA membership by allowing them to pay their contributions via the internet using any of the payment options being offered by Landbank.

“This collaboration with LBP is envisioned to provide OWWA members with faster and more accessible means of renewing their membership to ensure their protection while working overseas. We, at OWWA, believe that we should use the available technology to our advantage, that is why we are working hard to integrate it in our programs to enhance service delivery to our OFW-clients”, Administrator Cacdac said.
